One of the tractors I am considering is the BX22. Mowing would be a secondary funcation as I would be using it mostly for FEL, backhoe and posthole digging work on a small scale. Is the BX22 capable of doing real FEL and backhoe work? I am concerned about it's light weight and ground clearance. All input will be appreciated.

oldud - I think you need to define real FEL and backhoe work. Commercial/production work = "real"......then I would say no to a BX22. I've had mine since May and it is exactly what it is advertised as ..........homeowner/estateowner one tractor solution. Also what does "small scale" mean? Work on your property....at neighbors.... at strangers. Sounds like you may be moving toward a commercial type endeavor.

I've moved plenty of mulch/compost, cut the grass, dug up some pretty good size stumps and started on a water feature. It has worked flawlessly. I realize(d) it's limitations therfore I haven't been disappointed at all.

If mowing is really secondary and you are hesitant about weight/clearance specs already, I think you may need to look at something else. Chuck

I have over 50 hours on my BX22, and on a 35 acre wooded property have had no complaints. It will and can not do every thing I can think of, but to maintain my place, I find it adequate.

If you have more money to spare, of course you can can buy bigger.

Good luck.
