Bx22 vs
Bx2200.
I had a
Bx2200 traded for
Bx22 in March ,02, almost the same tractor. I can't see any mechanical differences. A few cosmetic, Kubota filled that empty "hyd. lever slot" on right fender that everyone wanted to use for TNT control. They routed the seatbelt through it. I have not looked at a new
Bx2200, so I don't know if it is the same. Of course you don't get that mean looking Bx grille guard as standard.
The
Bx22 is heavier due to the reinforcment for the backhoe, this is something that can not be retrofitted to the
Bx2200. TheBx22 ROPS is wider and higher and also "folds". I wish they had designed the ROPS to fold down and not just back.
I've been told the seat adjustment is higher due to the reversiable nature. More comfortable for taller folk, I can't tell myself. Kubota also missed on two other points. The transmission dipstick is under the aux. hyd. mounting bracket, I have trouble everytime I check it, especially if BH is on. Also they could have made the hyd. hoses to BH a tat longer, BH has to be almost attached to connect them. Not too much of a problem if BH is disconnected on hard flat surface, I have to disconnect mine in a grassy area and it tends to settle a bit after a rain. makes reconnecting harder. Guess that give me an excuse to pour more concrete.
The BH is a great counterweight for the FEL. I've been able to dig with it eazier than with the
Bx2200 and a 5' box blade as counerweight.
I know I rambled on here a bit. Both tractors are great machines. If you don't need or want the BH go with the
Bx2200. The BH is not attachable to the 2200 at a later time so if you think you may want it later the only option is to trade up to the
Bx22.
Hey it's only money !!!!
