I am getting close to purchasing the bx18 or bx22 and wonder what folks think about the difference. I am planning on mowing, and little work with the FEL and maybe some tilling in the future.
I went the way of the BX2200. The difference was about $400 in this area, and I thought that it was worth it for the resale and the reassurance....for $400 it wasn't worth me forever wondering if I had enough HP to do the job every time I bogged the engine down. Would I have been able to do everything with the 1800 that I do with the 2200? Yes, probably. It's that "Probably" that I spent the $400 for. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Besides, the dealer sells about 25 2200's for every 1800....so I figger that if i ever need any parts for the engine, the chances are greater that he'll have it in stock for mine....
I was leaning towards the BX1800, but ended up with the BX2200. I still think that the 1800 would have been fine for everything I needed to do, but the difference in price was $300. And for the $300 I decided I'd never kick myself in the future for having the little bit more power. Having said that, they are both great little machines.
I have to agree with everone else, for just a few hundred dollars,$400.00 in my case I steped up to the BX2200.
For me it was a no brainer, I awlays go for MORE POWER.
This is my first diesel and I am very happy with the fuel economy. I use my little tractor for all it is worth and I am sure I would have already had regrets if I had purchased the 1800.
Rich...
Oh, just to prevent confusion, there is no such thing as a BX18. There is a BX22TLB. I think you were refering to the BX2200 and the BX1800 in your post. J
I replied to this discussion this morning... But for some reason it didn't post so I am going to do it again.
I bought the BX2200 about 2 weeks ago. The dealer had an 1800 on the lot but said he wasn't going to order any more because it only cost 300. more for the 2200... I feel like anybody else.. For 300. I have more power and probably a better resale if that time ever comes... Good luck on your decision. I think you will enjoy it. My gal does...[censored] it!
Guess I should have said "Darn It". The other word that starts with a "D" got censored. Pretty Funny.. I wonder if the word "Lawyer" would get censored. I think that's a bad word...
