Hello, Tractorbynet. I'm a long time listener, first time caller. I've been a lurker for over a year, and now I'm seriously considering picking up a BX22.
In order to haul it, I'll probably get a landscape style trailer (so I can use it for other things as well) and fortify the mesh gate to handle the weight. I've read the other posts on trailer recommendations, but haven't seen a solid report on the length and weight of a BX22 with FEL and BH attached.
I gather the weight is in the neighborhood of 2500lbs, since the specs say the tractor is 1520 and the BH is 617. No mention of the FEL, but I'm guessing it is 500 or less. A tandem definitely sounds like the right choice since once you add the trailer weight you are at or over the 3500lb GVWR on a single axle.
Anyone ever measure the length of their BX22, from the front of the bucket (laying on the ground) to whatever sticks out furthest on the BH when it is locked in transport position?
I see some people recommend a 14' trailer, others 16'. I recognize some people want "extra room" to work with, but I'm curious as to the bare minimum needed to fit one on a trailer.
Great forum! Thanks,
Mark
