BX22 Air Filter Strap Broke Again

The original strap broke within the first two weeks I had the tractor. Replaced the original with the so called heavy duty kit and figured that would be the end of that problem.

Heard something rattling under the hood last evening and when I opened the hood, discovered that the heavier strap was broken. Have about 220 hours on the tractor. Guess Kubota has not found a fix for this problem yet.

Back to the dealer again.

My breather strap broke and the dealer gave me the replacement under warranty, it is a different color but doesn't look any heavier than the old one that broke. When I put the new one on I used part of the old one to strengthen the new one in the second pic you can see that I also added a wire tie to hold it solid. Works for me.

Thanks for the pictures. That looks the the original strap on my BX22 that broke. The strap in the replacement kit I got is somewhat heavier and of different design. The kit I was was given to replace the original strap was:

Bracket, Kit (Air, Cleaner)
Kubota Part no. K2561-98211

My dealer is ordering me a replacement strap for this kit and I'll be looking at how to make it stronger. He wants my broken strap back as I'm the first he's had to break this one. Just my luck...

My Tractor was delivered to me with the strap broken!!! I could not figure out the point of the silly design with a band around the filter housing attached only at one end. The break was not visable. I noticed it the first time I opened the hood to check the fluids. This was at something like 0.2 hours on the tach. After reading this thread I pulled it off and sure enough it was broken. I bent up a piece of stainless and rivited it on. We'll see if that lasts longer.
