What would be realistic good deals on a bx1860 and 2360 with a 54" mower deck, with loader valve but No FEL? The 54" deck would be preferable due to space constraints. I am in the mid-atlantic area. Thanks

Close estimate? BX1860 would be $11,000 plus tax, and other little fees. BX2360, add $1000 or so. Since you are close enough to be within Barlows Kubota or Messicks Kubota delivery range, why not ask them for a quote? They can do better on most occasions. These guys know their stuff and are open and honest supporters of this site. I sure would, if for no other reason than to keep my local guy honest with his pricing.

BTW, the 54" deck is as large as the 1860 can go, while a 48" is also available.

Thanks for the info bp. I will probably talk to Messicks. I'm not to far from them.

1* in 2007 I priced a BX1850 and 54'' mower for $9100.
I passed on it in favor of A New left over 2005 BX1500 with a 48''MMM for $7750.
I also bought a used BX1500 and 48'' MMM for $5250.
2*Excellent suggestion.
3*I should have gone with the 54" MMM .
The 48'' makes it to hard to trim up close to things.

The 1860 is about 45'' wide so a 48''MMM is to narrow for this width tractor making it hard to trim up close with out scffing and dinging up the tractor.
You are right in considering the 54"MMM.
I can't help you on a BX2360 but when I bought my BX23 it was
$8100 Tractor
$1300 60 inch MMM

Hey LB, something to consider. Telling folks what you could buy for 3 or 4 years ago isn't all that helpful. These folks want current pricing which is far different. What prices might have been 4 years ago is mostly irrelevant.

Giving reasons why a 54" MMM allows you to get closer to objects when mowing, that is reasonably helpful. See the difference?

RE: the 48" vs 54" decks issue of getting close to things. The 48" Deck is positioned offset to oneside to extend beyond the wheels. So the real difference is an inch or so. FYI

So I'm infinitely curious: Why ever the 48" deck? So you can squeeze between 2 trees that you barely fit the rest of the tractor through anyway?

Not getting it. Bigger'z better.

Most of the time.

Unless you have 2 trees 49" apart that you MUST mow between with your tractor, apparently.

Normally, I would agree, however, with my situation, there is a retaining wall approx six feet off the garage, so I have to manuever around the corner of the garage and it is tight. Also have several trees close together as well, but Now looking at the 54", It appears the total difference is not that much. The 60" will not work at all.

What I dislike about the 48" is the anti-scalp wheel setup. The fronts are pin adjustable but the rears are fixed and require a wrench to change height. I had this set up on my GR2100 before I traded for my bx2660. After having both styles, I would never have the fixed again. It is a PITA. To some, it might not be a big deal. I run my wheels 1/4" from the ground to prevent scalping and I find it produces the best cut quality. On the 54 and 60" decks, all 4 wheels have the adjustable round post with quick pins.

You may be saying the same thing, but besides being adjustable by wrench only for height, the 48" deck anti scalp wheels don't rotate 90% for rolling the deck out sideways from under the tractor, if'n I recall correctly.
