BX1500 ???

Yesterday I stopped by my local Kubota dealer, and he told me about the new BX 1500 that is coming out in September. He said that it will be a two cyl. diesel 15 HP, but the same size as the BX 2200. It will be available with a 48 inch MMM and FEL.

Has anyone else heard about this?

I tried making this post earlier, but I don't think it came thru so I wiil try again.
Engineers form Kubota will be at our dealership on the 13th with a BX1500 for us to evaluate. Your information is in line with what we were told, there will also be a 54" MMM available from what we were told . I sould have more info available after Tuesday.

It's hard to understand Kubota coming out with a BX1500 when the BX1800 is lagging in sales. The BX2200 sells so fast Kubota can't keep them in stock but that is not the case with the BX1800.

The cost deference between the two is so small that most people option for more horse power.. I know of at least one dealer who will no longer stock a BX1800 for that reason. Unless Kubota does a big price drop for the BX1500 people are going to continue to buy the BX2200

I agree with that. It's hard for me to believe that the 2 cylinder engine is enough cheaper to manufacture, to allow Kubota to price the bx1500 that much below the 1800.

The dealer also said that Kubota had to re-design the engine mounts because of vibration issues with the 2 cylinder engine.
He said now there is virtualy no vibration with the new mounts.

please look and see how the engine is installed and which direction the driveshaft/drive train turns.

I'd almost put money on the BX 1500 being reverse flow, fly wheel in front.

Will have to check out BX1500, as I'm in need a a little tractor. Bought a MF1205, primarily for mowing an few other odd job. It's a exceptionally nice tractor in every way but one, it can't keep it's cool. The little grill opening in front seem to suck up everything the mower kicks up. Plugs the screen in 30 to 40 minutes.. Dealers is picking it up tomorrow... Couple of days before buying the MF, I seen a BX1800 for $9600,with mower, price included 6% tax. Wonder if it's still there... RJK Sr...

I read this post several days ago and, like others, was perplexed at the logic of Kubota's decision. It now occurs to me that there may actually be an active thought process at work.

It would not surprise me if Kubota introduced the BX1500 AND discontinued the BX1800. I suspect they have come to realize that the price differential as well as the performance charateristics are simply to close between the BX1800 and BX2200.

By replacing the BX1800 with the BX1500 Kubota may be able to offer a product which is meaningfully cheaper than the BX2200 and fall into a lower performance category. In fact, it may offer a more competitive product against JD's new X400 and X500 series. It would not surprise me if the BX1500 was only a 2-wheel drive machine.

I would love to hear more details when others out there get to feel and touch this new machine.

Bob, I would not be surprised at all if your thoughts are right on the mark. I have alot of friends that admire my 2200, but are not interested in spending that kind of money. If Kubota can put together this tractor as it has been described, 2wd, 2cyl. engine,etc., and get a tractor, MMM, and a front blade out the door for a street price of 7000-8000 dollars, I bet they will sell many.
Some may point out that Kubota already offers garden tractor in that price range, but my friends want a tractor that has the physical stance of mine. Should be interesting!
