BX1500 vs Bx2230 owned both

Well, I just traded my Bx1500 for the new Bx2230, the 1500 had 21 hours on it, no there wasn't anything wron with it, I just had to have the biggest in the class. The bx1500 is all the tractor a person could ask for, seemed as much power in the pulling catagory as the 2230. when mowing the 1500 did fine but you had to slow down in tall wet grass. The 2230 just don't care how wet or tall the grass is it just plows right thru,
Having had both I recomend to anyone go ahead and spend the extra dollars and get the 2230. Again let me say though the BX1500 is no underpreformer. stumper067 /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congrats, on the new 2230, no doubt a good machine, I love my 2200. What type stump grinder do you have?

Hey stumper067, Glad to hear that you moved up a few steps in the BX class. You should really enjoy that new mowing machine.

What part of Mississippi do you live in? I am in south MS.

Add one more name to the "few buy smaller, most buy larger" club, eh?

Could you comment on the size difference? Do you notice the 2230 as being larger than the 1500? Can you still cut around things and so on like you did with the 1500?

Are there anythings that in your mind the 1500 was superior in?

Just curiosity questions. For some reason I could not look smaller than the 2200 when last summer when I wanted something to compliment my B2910...and I still seem to want to believe that for the price difference the 2230 is the way to go...but I have never even sat on a 1500 so what do I know? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Henro, bet you get alot of comments on that picture,love it!!
Anyway the bx2230 is a few inches longer in the front to accomodate the 3 cyl engine and you can operate a bigger mmm on the 2230. the 1500 max mmm is 54". The 2230 also has the new cruise control, other than these things the tractors are the same. I think the bigger mmm on the 2230 will probably trim closer. I will post more when I have more hours on the 2230. (only 5 now) Thanks to everyone for the welcome. I am sill tring to figure how to post and reply correctly...stumper
