Anbody know what the BX2200 length is without the 3-point hitch? I am trying to compare the size of both of these tractors, but the BX1500 pamphlet lists the length without the 3-point and the BX2200 pamphlet lists the length with the 3-point. I keep wondering if the BX2200 is too large for my 2.1 acre lot or not. The BX1500 seems somewhat smaller, but not by much it is only 40lbs lighter.

Dwayne,
Length, weight, etc. are probably not the issues so much as cost to purchase. The 2200 has more power but will work just as well as the 1500 on your 2.1 ac.
just my .02,

I am just trying to compare the size to my prior tractor, which was a Simplicity Landlord. The landlord is basically the same size as the G2160/G2460. I want to make sure everything is going to fit comfortably in my garage still.120

From my manual that covers all three, the length of the BX1500 w/o 3pt is 75" the BX1800/2200 are 79.7" with 3pt's, the BX1500 is 87.6" and the BX1800/2200 are 92.1"

I am not sure about the BX1500, but with the BX1800/2200, the three point arms look like they only come off if you take the rear wheels off, so it's not like you would put on and off on a regular basis, so I would use the overall length w/3pt as your guide.

I am probably going to use a pull behind trailer, which looks as if it would interfere with the 3-point. I don't think I will need the 3-point any time in the near future. Thanks for the info that was exactly what I was looking for!

Are you sure about removing rear wheels? That does not sound right. On my bx-22 the three point hitch arms go on and off in about 5 minutes. with backhoe removed. I would assume (not that word again) that the bx2200 set up should be the same way. Having to remove the rear wheels would be absolutely crazy in my opinion. if I remember correctly the tractor will come with the 3piont hitch arms as part of the tractor, this is not an option.

Steven,

I would be interested in seeing a picture of the BX22 3-pt arms set up. My set up is a rod through both 3-pt arms and the sway adjusment anchor bracket (if that is what it is called). I tried to remove today, as I thought it would be easier for trailerin. It appears that both of the outer sides have a bracket you can remove which looks like you can then pull the bar out and slide the 3-pt arms off. But upon removing the holding brackets and trying to tap the bar with a hammer (sideways as there isn't much room between tire and bar) I found that it didn't move easily. I decided after a few minutes not to proceed as I did not want ot get it part way off and not be able to put it back on easily. And I surely didin't want to remove the tires today.

Anyhow, if you have a picture please send. I will attach a few of mine for reference as well.

Dwayne

I have the same issue with the 3pt hitch. The way I solved
the problem was to remove the linkage for the hitch
and tie up the arms with cable ties. This allows for small
lawn trailers, etc to be pulled, by if I need the hitch
it only takes a 2 or 3 minutes to put it back see attached

Hi.........

On the BX22 3pt., the pine you are talking about removing is in 2 pieces, with enough space or gap between them that allows the lower arms to slip through. The pins stay on the tractor even with the hoe mounted.

I had bought the service and parts manuels for the BX2200 and then traded tractors for the BX22 but didn't buy the BX22 manuels so I can't give you the part numbers. I would just talk to the dealer and see if they now have changed them all (BX22 and BX2200) or if the parts could be changed? Hope this helps.
