All I can say is WOW............way surpassed anything i thought it could do............Great traction, I have turfs with no extra weight or anything and i had no issues on our blacktop driveway.

Plenty of power for any type of snow removal........The snow we had was not very wet but I dont think that will make to big of a difference.

I am very happy I went with the front mount snowblower, a rear would have literally been a pain in the neck.

I really cant say enough for this combination of tractor and blower for the price. Im very happy.

The rear blade came in much more handy than i thought it would also for clearing along buildings ect. I was having so much fun I even did my 3 neighbors driveways !!!!!!!!!

I started out using the fel just to see how it would be. It was a pain compared to when i put the blower on. The blower is much nicer to use.

***Note to self in the future, when backing up next to trailer worry more about the FEL by the trailer next time. I happen to hit the rear brake light with the corner and tore it off!!!!!!! Live and learn....

Here are a few pics.

WOW nice set up. BUT where is your hat?? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Some folks have used horse mats and cut them for the edge on the rear blade. Much cheaper alternative., here is a thread on this topic.

My tractor gets picked up tomorrow to add the Sims cab and front snowblower, can not wait!!

Apollo,

Nice pics! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif After 4 years, I still can't get my wife outside to take pics of me on my tractor in the winter. Heck, I'm lucky if I can get her to do it in the summer. Usually, the pics I take are of an "unmanned" tractor before and after the task that needed to be done. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

As far as a rear blade scraper....have you tried reversing your blade? This is what I do and it works great. The blade "floats" over obstructions. I use it that way over the hard pack and the pavement...heck...I even cleared an area of lawn that way with very little visible damage to the lawn. When I need to really scrape down as much as possible, I put it in the "normal" position. I had to do that today as our driveway is on a hill, it is very cold, and there was a light coating of ice on the drive before.

I NEED to put my chains on, otherwise I lose too much traction on the hill. The way our property is set-up, I have to work "up-hill" a lot, against gravity. It worked today, but I'll put the chains on when it warms up a bit.

Back to the blade edge...I bought one of those plastic edges for my Woods 72" blade, but haven't used it yet. I put a piece on my smaller lawn tractor snow plow and the blade didn't scrape the packed snow as well as its former metal edge. Due to my hill, I figured I wanted to be able to scrape as hard as possible and I think the metal edge will do that best. I read on TBN about reversing the blade and I think it works great.

Good Luck and have fun. I hope you have a very snowy winter. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You will be soooooooooo happy with the blower especially with the 2200.............

There is no comparison to the front mount blower out there in my mind after using it.

I actually like to be out in the cold believe it or not. I snowmobile alot and dont mind the wind and snow from the blower. Sadistic I know!!!!!!!!!

Hey rick thanks for the suggestion. I did turn it around a few times but on mine it seemed to dig in more when turned around. I think my top link is set for it in the front position and when turned the link is to short causing the blade to be to horizontal to the ground making it dig in.

I reallllyyyyyyyyyy hope its a "BIG DUMP" winter. Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow...........Is my new moto !!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had the KUBOTA 60" front blade installed on my BX23. This has the optional rubber squeegie blade attached. This may fit your rear blade. The metal edge on your blade would be removed to install this rubber blade. It is adjustable and can be turned over when one edge is worn. I have an asphalt driveway also and want to avoid marking it with a metal edge. No significant snow yet so I have not been able to use it. Thanks to recommendations by TBN members I got the hydraulic angle one. My dealer did not even mention one existed and I almost wound up with a lighter MANUAL front blade. I really like the hydraulic setup and am very grateful for advice on this board. Back to your question. I think WOODS offers a plastic or rubber blade edge and you may want to check with them.

You can use a piece of black poly pipe to do the same thing Split the pipe slide it over the cutting edge and bolt it on. On the back blade.
