I was recently able to pick up a bx1500 while cleaning out an estate. It has been under tarps for at least 6 years. I charged up the battery and got the dashboard to light up a bit. The fuel pump buzzes and the solenoid clicks after I shut off the key, but no indication of wanting to turn over. I have an L3400 that I have had for 8 years. This bx is familiar, but just different enough to make me look for an owners manual. The air filter is clean and the engine oil looks good, but I plan on changing all fluids soon. Any advice on getting it to turn over would be appreciated Fuel and fuel filters first? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a safety switch if it is not turning over. PTO, HST pedal, seat

yes check switches but could battery just be toast (not enough amps to turn but dash lights etc ok) after 6 yrs jump with known good bat/veh

I'd suspect a new battery is in order in any case. I wouldn't see it as an unnecessary expense, but a mandatory one.

Thanks Deano!
I'll check those things first.

Also take care, if the clutch pedal was not blocked, the clutch plate can rust onto the flywheel. Ensure it disengages so PTO operation is safe.

My B2320 had the "block the clutch" procedure, but not on a BX. No clutch pedal to block.

I also bought a BX that had an absurdly low amount of hours put on it in 3 or 4 years. Likely a senior tractor owner, who knows. Just go through it with fresh fluids and filters, fresh diesel and fuel filters as well. I chose to even change out the HST fluid and filter and re-fill with the newer SUDT-2. Did everything short of changing in the air in the tires.

Come to think of it, I did change the tires/wheels.

There is no clutch on this one which surprised me. The tires are all cracked, but holding air and it only has about 370 hours on it. I'll probably have to wait until the weekend to look through it again as there is not enough daylight anymore. It was senior owned, but he seemed to take pretty good care of all his stuff.

I tried putting a tractor picture on so it would come up when I post. I have the pic on my profile but it doesn't come up when posting. Any suggestion from anyone?

Thank you
