Does anyone know what the max system pressure on the hydraulics is on the BX1500? I would like to adjust the relief valve a little bit, all depending on what pressure it is set at right now, and what the max system pressure is. I will put a pressure reading gauge into the control valve. Then deadhead the loader and see what the relief pressure is set at.

Any tips for me?

And the reason why I am doing this is because when I'm at the bottom of a manure pile trying to lift the load up, it just wont go. I have to keep "rocking" the tractor back and forth to finally get a full load that will lift. I just want a little bit more "umpf."

Thanks alot

If you have the owners manual, the relief PSI should be listed in the specifications section. My newer BX1850 pressure relief valve is spec'd to 1778 PSI. As far as trying to lift from the bottom of the pile, depending on how big a pile it is and what the material weighs, it's not unsusal to have to use the curl up function so your not lifting the whole pile, or to back out a bit. I find curling while lifting as I'm driving into the pile get's me a full load without hitting the relief valve PSI. Anyway, what you're experiencing doesn't sound unusual for most tractors, even bigger ones since they take bigger bites.

Adjust your technique first. Drive into the pile easy (about halfway), and then curl the bucket up somewhat. At that point drive forward as you lift the bucket, slicing the front of the pile into the bucket. With a little practice you will get a full bucket every time.

Alright, so I just found the specs. It says for the relief valve, 1780 to 1849 psi. Does that mean that I can not exceed 1849 psi when the cylinder is deadheaded?

You can, but it's not recomended.

Ok and I have one more quick question.

I was reading in that other thread that you can have a QD at the end of you hose and on the other end have the gauge, and just connect into each indevidual port going into the FEL. Would that work too? Or would it be more accurate coming right out of the control valve in one of the ports there

I think the OP needs changed not the BX1500.
Bottom of the Pile was his key word that tiped me off.

That is the easiest way to do it. Take a look at mine in the picture.
