BX1500 Alternator Upgrade

Has anyone out there installed or attempted to install the high capacity alternator kit (BX7310A) on a BX1500? My dealer has informed me that, even though it is listed as a BX1500 option on the Kubota website, the high capacity alternator kit is only for BX18xx, BX22xx, and BX2x. After looking at the parts diagram for a BX1500 and comparing to a BX1830 diagram, it appears to be the same. The dynamo is the exact same original part in all BX models, thus I do not understand why the high capacity alternator kit would not fit the BX1500. Any info would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks.

Without knowing for certain... there could be a physical size limitation. In other words, does/do the new components actually fit under the hood etc?

I did this upgrade on my bx-22. The difference in the models is the size of the bottom bolt on the alternator, the spacers for that bolt, and the diameter of the hole that it bolts to on the engine.
I don't know about the 1500, but my guess is that it may not fit because of this. You might be able to make it fit if you are willing to drill and/or make your own spacers. I would try to find an 1800, and compare exactly how each bolts on and compare the diamter of the bolts.

I wanted to add more lights, as Mike C suggested...(4) 55-watt halogens. My dealer is going to order the BX7310 and told me to try putting it on. Worse case, it doesn't fit, and he said I can return it.

For the life of me I can't figure out why Kubota only puts such a small output alt in to begin with? I mean I know cost is 1 thing but it seems the lights are the most standard add on that people use.
