BX15 and a post hole digger?

Poison Oak bad. If I ever run into it again, its a can of gasoline and a match for me. I removed a bunch from a tree line and ended up on steroids for a few weeks. I was all FUBAR from it. Never even knew it was such poison to me. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If you burn it, and inhale the smoke, you will get inflammation of the lungs, which is a lot worse than any poison ivy/oak/sumac than you will ever contract. Burning any of them just makes the oils airborne and more dangerous.

Or you could do what a local farmer here did for his cattle fence.
He simply attached the insulators for his electric fence to the top of the highway guard rail post and installed the wire on them.
One thing about his system is you don't nead a BH or a PHD.
It must have been a real time saver not having to dig or drill all them post holes. LOL

Needless to say the authorities must have made him remove the fence from the guard rail as it's not on it now.

i can imagine since that what happened to me but I didn't burn them. Alot of the vines were dead and dry so the dirt and dust got into my lungs and I waw a mess. Hence the steroids. I'll pay a kid to do it next time. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yep 30 years setting up mobile homes.

The holes for pouring the pads for the post were always dug with a BH.

Digging fence posts with the little back hoe on a BX-23 would work I guess, but there are problems. It's got to be a lot slower, and the hole would be much bigger requiring much more backfill (TIME AGAIN!!!!). Plus if you plan to fill the holes with concrete the BH hole is going to require much more than the PHD hole ($$$$!!!!)

Just going on what I have seen using the WorkSaver PHD on my BX-23, I would not be afraid of using A PHD on a 1500. I never take my BX off idle when using the PHD. The 1500 should have plenty of power.

1*The pads for the piers had to be 16 to 24 inches square so that wasn't a problem also the piers were 16" Square so very little back fill is required.
2*The pads were 4 to 8 inches thick so again there was no excess concrete required.

A 6 to 9" PHD would not have done the job.

I'm sorry I stand corrected.

I thought this post was about wether a BX-1500 could handle A PHD. I guess it's about digging footings.

If this was a post about using a PHD on a BX then my opinion would be the same as I posted.
