Tires BX Turf Tires and Loader Work

I've had three B's, and am on my second BX. I don't know what's changed, but the current set of turfs on my BX2670 are the worst for anything more than mowing. I don't know why they seem to be so soft. It seems like I am always filling them with air, and today, after just checking their pressure, the sidewalks bulge with a measly 400# in the bucket. I never recall this being a problem with my BX2660, or any of my B's. Could I have a poor set of front turf tires? I'm thinking about getting a set of R4's before I wind up looking at the world sideways from blowing a tire off a front rim. Just seems the tires on this BX are really light duty for loader work.

Those turf tires are VERY light duty. Put the R4`s on and you`ll be fine. I`ve been down that same road as you, only R4`s from now on.

if you are always filling them with air -- don't you think it time to check for leaks?
some of the bx's had issues with the bead leaking air - yours might have that problem . if they have the right amount of air - but bulge alot with a full bucket- maybe check the construction of the tire ? is it 2,4,6 ply? the higher the plys the better in flexing.

on mine - my original turfs kept leaking at the bead area. i used spray bead sealer for awhile - i used slime it worked for couple years and then failed. worse decision ever. when i finally decided to put new turfs on it - the leftover slime really stinks and icky all over my tire equipment. next time i will just put in new tubes.

Turfs for mowing and R/I4s for FEL is what I've always done due to weight load on FEL and lack of side wall strength/better flexibility/smoother ride turfs.
The BX used to always have one bad tire for air leaks in past years. That was just a given and I resolved mine with tubes. Puched/bloated sidewall is different than the leaking one tire issue.

For what it's worth, I just took delivery last week of a new BX2380 FEL w/R4's, and have been impressed with the performance, not only as intended (FEL), but hasn't chewed up the turf bad at all. I am careful about sharp turns using 4WD with a bucket full, but may be acting overly cautious for no reason. I'm sure the lighter tractor weight helps also.

Liking the R4's so far. First machine I've ever had them on.

Not just BX`s are prone to leaking, i`ve had international`s and john deere`s do the same thing... turf`s were constantly leaking.
I`ve never had a R4 leak yet, other than when winter showed its ugly head, i had to add some air to ALL the tires.

That may be the cheapest solution. Another option would be to get to the front tires foam filled. Adds to stability too.

I have all four tires on my BX foam filled and would never go back. They are R1 though, not turf. No loader though... but my b2910 does have a loader and foam filled R4s. Again not turfs.

But my experience tells me that foam filling of your turf tires may be the solution to your issue.

Never had a problem with the turf tires on my '04 BX23...Does everything I want even heaping bucket loads of limestone--tri-axles at a time.

Interesting. So is the consensus that the OP is running his front tires under Inflated?

Curious as both my tractors have foam filled tires, the result of punctures rather than other issues. Therefore I do not experience the OP's issues.
