BX Tractors and 12 volt 3 Point Sprayer

Anyone use one of these 12 volt sprayers on a BX? The 12 volt pump requires 8 amps, just wondering if the tractor has that spare capacity available.

I use exactly that sprayer on a 2014 BX2670. No issues whatsoever. Must have ran 6-8 tanks through it so far.

Thanks Glenn awesome. Do you use the sprayer clamps right on the tractor battery or did you wire up a connector through the tractor fuse panel? Ideally I'd like this on a fuse protected circuit. Also what do you use the sprayer for? I'm done with spending $300 on Scotts weed and feed which at best makes my weeds feel sickly. I'm planning to go to a sprayed herbicide to kill off all the broadleaf weeds in my lawn.

I use an ATV spot sprayer with my BX so intermittent running. It takes a toll on the charge and I put a trickle charger on it when I'm done. You could probably use a marine battery as a stand alone and get along that way. I don't remember what the BX alternator is rated at, but I don't think it could keep up. My BX is a first generation so yours may have a higher rating than mine.

I have 5-6 acres of lawn and I use it for a spring/fall broadleaf weed kill. It seems if i go at 1500RPM and WOT in low range with 30LBS nozzle pressure the grass is just so wet with chemical. Works great. I have been using a chemical for farm sprayers that i can't remember the name of (old age). The stuff is about $80 Cdn for 10L. I expect any broadleaf killer will do this with the proper ratio.

I wired a 12v Lighter-type plug on the end of the factory wiring and use power from the 12v plug under the seat. The factory plug is fused. I have never had a battery drain issue and when i do this it is typically the whole day (8Hrs).

Me again....it might be HIGH range and idle at full hydro pedal. I would know if I was doing it but we still have 2 feet of snow.

Thanks again Glenn that's super helpful. I found my local Wilco farm store carries these in stock so I'll be picking one up tomorrow. Good to know on the 12v lighter plug, that would make it easy to connect, disconnect.

The BX alternator is now 40 amps, I think on earlier BX it was much smaller maybe 15 amps.

They needed to. Not much room to add any load on mine.
