Excuse the repost from the Attachments forum, but I thought there may be a few that don't check that forum often enough (like me sometimes /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif ).
Ok, finally got around to installing the new 3pt sway adjusters on my BX. Some comments:
First was that I had to grind a good 1.5" in the tube side to get them to fit over the mounts on the lower links. Second was that they fit awful close to the pin that secures the lift rods to the lower links (within 1/8"). I considered drilling new holes closer to the center of the check chain plate to give me more room, but I'm not sure if that would have an adverse affect when the 3pt is under stress. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
I also drilled out the holes in the solid stock to allow for bushings as some of the others have done, but even fitting them fairly loose gave me very little freeplay for differing right hand lift rod adjustments (for doing things like dropping one side of the rear blade to dig a swale). I had to mount the solid stock underneath the check chain plate, otherwise the tube end would bind on the lower link mounts.
Anyhow, check the pic for the final results. Check the Attachments forum for part numbers and details on doing this. Milkman was a great help in this! Final cost was about $70 including the Grade 8 bolts and bushings....
