I know I'm not the only one on the list hear that has a BX with the Woods Ground Breaker X BH on it. I have a question for you few, brave soles, that didn't go the way of the BX24, oops, I mean BX23.

Anyway, can you measure the spread on your 3ph and let me know if you are seeing a true 26" for a CAT 1 3ph. I have several implements that refuse to fit unless I turn the pins on the inside while I hear of others with the same implement not having to do so.

I never measured the spread before the Woods BH was installed so I'm not sure how much it was impacted.

I'm begining to think that the Woods BH makes an already semi limited 3ph even more limited.

I have a 2002 BX2200, the available spread on the 3PT is just over 32". I'm concerned with the spread with a Woods BH6000 since I plan to install one soon. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Russ,

The Woods BH mount is definitely impacting the spread of the 3PH on the BX. I dont think you can get better than an even 26" fully spread. I'll take some pics and post them to fully detail this. This one

I haven't noticed any problems with the Woods "Estate" series attachments I have, but they are designed for the sub CUT's. What is it that might limit the spred? The hoe attachment tabs on the sub frame? You could use longer arms to compensate if they were available or longer pins maybe.
I absolutly "dig" this set up. I can hitch it up in less than 5 minutes now. All of the mounting pins slide right in now that I spread those "slide lock" forks that go over the top mounting brackets. They were heat worped closed from the factory welds.
Man is this thing tough /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Woods when you talk about the pins sliding into place are you talking on the BH mounting or are you talking about the B series 3PH mods that everyone makes?

The subframe is what is limiting the 3PH, I dont have any Woods attachments, everything that we are using is standard CAT1 from Midwest Manufacturing. If you can turn the pins iside you are fine, if youcan't, the implement will not fit.

The Woods implements are the only game in town if you plan to use the Woods BH I'm finding out. Good in that they are extremely nice, but bad in that the choices and price points are missed.

In addition to my Woods BH6000, I have a Woods LR60 rake...but I also have a standard Cat 1 2" receiver hitch. I actually just had the hitch on this weekend, and didn't notice and limitation of the spread of the 3PH arms from before the BH6000 subframe was installed. I will say that when I raise the 3PH, either with the rake or hitch, the 3PH arms rub up against the top BH subframe attachment tabs, but it does not seem to limit it. I was told by my dealer that the only difference between the Cat 1 versus the limited Cat 1 on the BX series tractors is that the height of the max lift of the standard 3PH is a bit higher on the standard Cat 1. This seems to be an issue when using a PHD that is not specifically designed for the limited 3PH.

Is there any way you can spread your TPH arms all the way out and take a picture so we can see what is limiting the spread of your arms, the only thing that I can visualize that would limit the spread to that small amount is the turnbuckles, I don't have a problem using regular Cat1 impliments as my arms will spread to over 32".

Why didn't you just go with the BX23 and save yourself from having this problem and the too short ROPS Problem??

I was offered a similar deal on a new bx2230 when I was shopping for my bx23 and wisely I turned it down in favor of the BX23.

Very glad I did as it appears it saved a lot of grief & aggravation.

You have complained in the past that people have attacked you when you are simply trying to "love your neighbor." Can you not see how very rude your reply to Matt is?

Once again, TBN members were having a logical, technical, and civil discussion. Once again, you have interjected yourself into the discussion as if this were all about you and your opinion being not only the right opinion, but what you consider to be factual truth. You endlessly brag and boast about your choice of the BX23. When others make their own choices about what to buy, you obnoxiously try to rub their noses in the dirt. Rather than trying to relate to others in a way that is friendly and respectful of them, your comments convey to people that you are right and they are wrong. Your approach and comments are not helpful; they are unkind and unfriendly.

Long ago, I had an old great uncle. He was a very quiet and humble man of very few words. I remember from my childhood, a plaque on the wall of his store which said, "O Lord, Help me to have something kind to say, and if I cannot find something kind to say, please help me to keep my big mouth shut." He practiced what that plaque said. I think this would be a good motto for all of us, myself included, "Say something nice, or don't say anything at all." With all due respect, Mr. Brown, the things you say in your posts are frequently not nice at all. Give it some serious thought: Do you want people to like you, or do you get more satisfaction out of keeping people angry at you? You could make friends here if you wanted, but it depends on the way you treat and behave toward others.

The answer to that question is very simple. I purchased the BX2230 for an feature article I was writing and fell in love with the machine. I was working with NY state clubs to build and maintain some ATV and snowmobile trails. I liked the design and function of the Woods better than the Kubota BH and FEL and felt it was money well spent since the price was extremely good. Keep in mind I was buying this as a member of the media and not a normal consumer.

I've been side by side with a BX23 and when its BH stalled the Woods did not, the same has been true with the FEL in moving stone at an ATV club. The Woods has more juice from what I've witnessed. I'm no professional tractor guy, I can just report what I've experienced. Ask Junkman if you want to talk to an expert.

Actually, I could ask why you wouldn't buy the Woods since it seems to have out powered the Kubota in the side by side testing that we've done.

I've very happy with our decision to buy the Woods BH and FEL. Now the new BX24 might be a different story. I might have to trade in for that one. Time will tell.

Matt

Back to your original question, I picked up my Woods BH6000 yesterday. After installing the sub frame, hydraulics etc I reinstalled the 3PT hitch and I have no restrictions, I can still spread the lower arms out to just over 32 inches. I put my 300# counterweight on the 3 PT hitch and lifted the backhoe off my trailer. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I took a picture of the tractor with the backhoe on the skid in the FEL of the BX. I'm looking forward to a picture of your 3PT to see whats different and limiting the spread on the lower arms. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
