After 12 years, "I suppose"... it's due. :ashamed:

I have the two filters and I'll knock it out today. My question is probably an easy one. What's the thing I've annotated here with the red arrow? And do I need to get that changed too?

Thanks all!

That is the electric lift pump and no you don't have to change the pump as long as it is working. 12 years, you must get much better fuel than we have here in the midwest. I had to change mine 4 times in one year due to the soybean oil clogging it up.

Thanks for the info! I did them just now and frankly, they looked fine. I use strictly Exxon "on the road" diesel and only have about 375 hours on the tractor. I got diesel all over me. Mental note, clamp BOTH sides before removing the filter Dang!

It looks like you washed your tractor after we removed your loader.

HECK NO!!!!!! Those are pics "borrowed" from the Interwebz... But... Since you advised me to blow out my radiator, I DID blow off more of the tractor at that time. So it's less filthy now. :)

By the way, after changing the fuel filters, I tried to warm up the tractor running it for a good while and then running it out at max throttle a while. I couldn't hit mid range anymore since the rad is clean! lol

Hope to see your rig with the FEL soon! Cheers!

I removed my valve and valve stand today. I had to buy a few fittings to make the hydraulics work while my valve is off. I got the main frames
installed today. Now I need to determine what I need to attach the upper part of my valve stand to the right side main frame. After that's all
done & welded up, I need to get some hoses made.

Hopefully I'll have it finished in a week or two.

How do you like taking the cowling off to get at that upper filter? I solved it, put it under on the outlet of the aux fuel pump. Same hoses work just swap them. Made a bracket to keep it solid. No more cowing off for routine service. Get a socket handle oil filter wrench and long extension and change the oil filter w/o removing the cowling also. It has three fingers that go over the end of the filter

I've been doing the oil that way and agree that works well. As this is my first fuel filter change in 12 years, I'm ok with pulling the cowling. I'm guessing if I operate similarly, I may have another 15 years until I need to do that again. Maybe I'll get my son to do it for me. He'll be in his mid 20's by then! :")
