Today, I removed the front mounted Kubota snow blower from my BX22 and tried to install the Kubota front mounted sweeper. The sweeper will go onto the front hitch, but I can't get the locking latch to engage when I pull on the lever. I had the same problem last fall with the snow blower, but after fiddling with it for a little while it finally latched. I haven't been that lucky with the sweeper. Has anyone else had any problems getting the front attachment to latch to the quick mount? Any suggestion how to fix this problem will be greatly appreciated. It is anything but a "quick hitch"!!!!

I know what your problem is. Your not getting the blower or the sweeper pushed on the reciever far enough. I have a creeper that my blower rests on and I push my blower on the reciever as far as it will go. Then I can lock it in place with the lever. All said and done, about 30 seconds. Good luck.

I have thought of that also, and have tried to push it on further, but it will not go on any further than it already has. Possibly the quick hitch needs to be ground down a little on the sides?

I noticed this issue in another thread, so I'll paste it here:
Very easy to install. My quick attach plate had a high weld inside, so it was hard to latch til I corrected that problem.

Hope this helps,
Chuck

I've checked all welds for any spatter, and have found none. It appears that the quick hitch might have been made incorrectly, and might be too wide. I have tried to file all the surfaces to get a little more wiggle room, but to no avail. I was hoping that someone else might have run into this problem also, and figured out the fix. In the mean time, I will continue tinkering with it, and will post when I find a solution.

Update:

I found the problem. The chamfer of the quick hitch wasn't sharp enough at the rear of the quick hitch, and once I filed the edge to a 45 degree further back, that gave me enough additional clearance to push it back far enough to lock. It is still very tight, but at least not it will lock. Some further refinement will be required with the file to make it so it fits easily the first time, and every time thereafter. Thanks for your help and suggestions. Dusty.:)

Glad you found the problem! Things like that can be pretty frustrating for sure....

I know this is a very old thread, but how do you like the sweeper and what kind of uses do you use it for. I was thinking it would be great for the small amount of snow falls. 1-3" probably isnt enought for a blower, but perfect for the sweeper. Any pics, or vids of it in action

Thanks
