Just curious if other BX owners have a similar experience as I.

I put a strait edge on my left and right front frame rails (inside of front wheels) to see how strait it was. Needless to say, it was not strait at all. At one point it was teetering on a high spot, where on the other side there were a few little "velleys". Is this normal? My original complaint was that my left wheel was rubbing on my 60" mmm at full left turn. Dealer adjusted the stops and corrected it, but something seems amiss. I measured the front axle and it seems cocked to the left a bit. What I mean is, the left front wheel sits back about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch compared to the right front. I measured from the back axle. Is this varience normal? Tractor runs fine, but this kinda bugged me.

Thanks for any advice you all can provide.

To be honest, I don't know. But you should be talking to your dealer again about your findings and get it documented. Something does seem amiss here, but was it like that when you got it? Maybe you could do the same measurements with another like model at dealer and compare notes ?

I have not had any reason to check mine, but agree with radioman to document and compare.

I doesn't sound like your dealer "fixed" your problem, only masked it by decreasing your turning radius.

I won't be back home until later tomorrow, so I can't help you much, buy would be curious what you find out from the dealer. I will check mine when I can.

My frame rail appears to be straight on my 2660. I can only tell up to the loader brackets but from the very front to the brackets it is straight with no high spots or valleys. As far as the straightness of the front axle, as good as I can do measuring with the deck on it is almost perfect. I would definitely let the dealer know about it. You might even notice it dog track to a small extent.

I will look at ours when it gets back from the dealer tomorrow (they are installing a heated softside cab on it) and see how it compares.

I suggest that you measure from the back axle to the front axle. Ideally, this would be done just inside the tires, and must be done on each side. )Do not measure from the rims, or the ends of the axles, becaue you cannot tell if the front wheels are pointed straight.)

If the two measurements are not within 1/8" of each other, I would ask the dealer to explain why the two axles are not parallel? I would not be concerned about the straightness of the frame rails until you begin to investigate the root cause of the misalignment.

Ok so here is what I found. I checked out 3 or 4 new BX's on the showroom floor, and each ones frame rails indeed exhibit a certain degree of "unevenness", usually at the weld points. Problem solved there, or should I say no problem.

I talked to my dealer and a rep from Kubota who said that they have "no spec" on the axle trueness. He said that there can be some variance, and if you wanted them perfectly strait, you could loosen the bolts and align them. Im not sure how accurate that statement is because the front uses a special pin and self aligning nut to "center" the front pin in the groove. Not sure about the back. Still curious if others have that variance in the front axle as well. I measured with my mower deck off, back axle (near rim) to front axle (near rim). Oh well. Also noticed an annoying knock knock while driving coming from the front steering rack moving in its mounts (left to right). Again. the brand new bx on the showroom had the same play. I guess im just use to "garden tractor" tolerances. This is my first sub-compact. Maybe I should take my specs off and step back a little. Sorry to *****!

I've lifted mine off the ground with the FEL and it has a little fore and aft movement in the pivot pin... maybe a quarter inch movement at the wheel. The manual suggests checking the pivit bolt tension every 400 hours, tightening it to 15 ft.lb. plus turning to the next available nut slot. I currently have about 350 hours on the tractor.

Also noticed, some time back, the play in the steering rack. Looks like a shim or two between the rack and one of the end plate would cure the play there.
