Mowing Bx 24 MM Mowing Deck

60" works well. wish it dispersed the clippings in a wider pattern further away. but, i have been letting my yard go too long between mows due to all the wet weather this year. if you stay on top of it, it makes a nice cut. i mow with loader and hoe OFF and usually mow in turtle gear at or near 2700 engine rpm.

will be rigging up something to bag or trailer the clippings and leaves as soon as i get the time.

I use the 54" standard cut deck. It cuts really nice and discharges very well.
I can mow 4" to 5" deep grass, relatively thick to a height of 2" at full speed, high range, at 3000 rpm with out any clogging. At that speed taller things like daisys etc will stand back up, but no complaints. Also I mow without loader or backhoe. The only drawback I see to mowing with the 24 is under trees. The wide ROPS sucks. Even folded it grabs anything it can. Other than that it is very nimble. I mow with R-4 tires and do not dig up the lawn.

I installed the mulching kit on the 60" deck. Cutting St. Augustine grass is fast and adequate. Sometimes a few blades are missed in turns and the wide cut does not follow some contours very well. Bottom line - no complaints from the homeowners association yet.

Cuts like a charm but installing/removing is something I've found to be a hassle so the MMM is currently stored in the barn and I mow with a small agco around the house. Agco cut is similar if not better by the way. If you're interested in the BX24 MMM, be sure to get the 60" to help get to edges much easier.
