Hi folks

I have a few y/o (still under warranty) bx 24 that has had a constant problem with several od the o-rings on the loader control leaking. I have had these things replaced three times soo far and still I have a leak that develops every soo often. I used the machine today or about an hour with the f.e.l ack dragging some loose ill that I put on my lawn to level it out. On my way to work today I noticed that all too familliar puddle of SUDT under my machine. I am getting sick of replaceing these o-rings. Round trip to the dealer is over 100mi and I have to borrow a truck/trailer to get it there. I was wondering if there was some kind of recall or TSB to fix these loader control o-rings? Only genuine Kubota parts have een used, and what seems to be happening is that pressure some how builds up and the o-ring lows right out of that banjo style fitting.
I am very concerned that when this thing goes out of warranty that I am going to get stuck for some major repair bills. Is there any recourse with kubota for a constantly reoccouring problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think the manual indicates you should relieve the pressure when you shut down with the loader and BH controls.

On some other systems I have heard that some other system residual pressure is a good thing to maintain the seal.

Which are you doing?

I usually relieve it.

So far not seen your problem on the bx25 but wouldn't expect a difference in design with the quick connect.

actually it's not leaking from the quick disconnects, it is leaking from the control block that is located behind the dash under where the battery sits. I usually just shut the machine of and walk away i hardly ever other relieving the pressure unless i have to disconnect/connect somthing in the hyd system. The defect is in the o-ring design or the way the control lock is machined or something like that

I had problems with mine at about 50 hrs, they were replaced 3 times before the problem was fixed, I know they tried Kubota orings & generic orings but I am not sure any more which ones actually worked, my BX now has almost 300 hrs on it without a drip from the control block

In this post, MacTractor says a design flaw was identified in his BX25.

I had a little trouble with o-rings in that manifold on my BX2350. Two different ones blew out. I suspect the second failed due to an improper repair of the first though.

i contacted the dealer today and they say they have never herd of such a problem! Well the good thing is, the warranty is still in effect. The bad thing is the dealer says kubota won't cover thransport to/from and it's 100+ miles round trip and I have to borrow a truck trailer to get it there.
My question to you folks and dealers if you are reading this is: has there has been any kind of recall or teck service bulliten on this issue. I want something to refrence especially if it is a faulty design on the bevels(pipes) or a bad control block. The service manager said he will "check" out the machine and see what he finds. I know darn well that they will throw in o-rings test it and ship it back to me. The leak will not re-occour for quite a while. any help info will be appreciated.

The flares on the hyd. lines were done improperly at Kubota they need to replace the lines in order to fix or it will just keep eating o rings. Call Kubota corp. and have them contact your dealer.

i will try that in the AM any idea on where to call anybody have a main phone number? I am on the east coast. Should I ask for warranty dept engineering?? also anybody that may have had this repair done if they have any refrence/warranty code Or service bulliten/recall # from their paperwork would be a help
Another thing has anybody know for sure if kubota can or will provide for transport to a repair facility? I am going to have a real PITA to beg borrow or steal a truck and trailer to drive the 100mi round trip to pick up and drop off the machine. not to mention the favors/money it will cost.

Roma,

When your dealer changes these orings insist they use "90 durometer" orings.....("70 durometer" is the generic type)......

An oring used as a static seal (meaning not moving under pressure) should always be a 90 duro (stiffer seal) this will last longer and handle higher pressure......Don't have them use viton or materials other than Buna N, 90 durometer.....Some tech's use the generic ones from their oring kits.....

If they cannot do this then get the size from them (inside diameter and thickness) and get new ones from someone else for after the warranty is up....

Orings are cheap.....it's your time (or theirs) that's expensive......:)
