When plowing snow with my fancy new Kubota BX-24 the transition while moving in reverse to stop is very abrupt. It is not this way when going from forward to stop.

I previously had a BX-2230 and never had this problem.

I plow in high gear range, approx. 2500 RPM using back blade and FEL.

My question is........Is there an adjustment to the hydro linkage to get rid of the abrupt transition from reverse to stop.

Thanks,

Ive noticed this too on mine. Being a newb, I just assumed it was normal. Ive just been trying to easy off the pedal to get it to stop smooth.

I do not have an answer but was wondering how you like the peddle system on the BX24 compared to the BX2230. Does it take less pressure to push the pedal down when going forward and does it ever seem to stick? I have a BX23. I liked the HST peddle on my prevous B2410. It never stuck and took less pressure to push down. I have seen a BX24 and the HST peddle seems to be an improvement.

Nik,

I have a large foot, so the operation of the hydro pedals for me is the same as my 2230. I can have my foot on both pedals at once while doing operations that warrant direction changes.

I do prefer the split pedal as is gives more operator room and when going in one direction you do not have to have your foot on the entire pedal as with the old BX type.

Pressure appears to be similar and no sticking yet. (only 15 hours). The pedal on my BX2230 never was sticky either.

On my BX22, there is a bolt with two nuts on each side, which pull a spring. This is the adjustment on the return spring of the pedal.

If your is the same, you should take some tension off the spring, which will regulate how fast the pedal return to neutral.

Check it out, good luck.

Bird,

Thanks for the reply. I will give that adjustment a try.

Do you have a Skid Plate for the BX24 yet?

I want one when you do.

Thanks Again!

My pleasure Reno,

My local dealer will only get his in April, so I'm hoping to get the skid plate done that month.

I hope I don't fall to much in love with the BX24 & trade my BX22, when they drop it off at home /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I'll try to keep you guys at TBN posted.

thanks

Bird
