I apparently posted the below message in the wrong place. Sorry folks. Anyway, if anyone can help with what I've written below I'd be grateful.

Hey all,
other than the new member post, this is my first official foray into the site. Hope I don't look a fool.
I'm in northern Indiana and am looking for a tractor with a mowing deck for my 3 acres. I'd also like a FEL.
After narrowing the field to Kubota and JD, I'm leaning toward Kubota. The BX 2360 looks to have a beefier front end, important I think because I intend to give the FEL a workout. However, this will be primarily a mowing machine.
I got a price locally of $13,999 for the BX 2360 with a 60"mmm and the LA23 FEL.
How does that sound? Has anyone done better?
Last, I'm also beginning to think that I may want to look at the BX 2660 for a few extra horseys and better clearance. I haven't priced that, will I be in shock?
Thanks in advance...

The BX ground clearance is what it is. I don't believe you pick up any ground clearance by moving to the 2660. That "26" has some other features too. You have to pay for them.

BTW, your price seems quite in the ballpark. A dealer who properly sets up your machine, stands behind any early quirks, and who delivers what he promises to sell you in a polite and prompt fashion, is also very important.

Welcome to the tractor world! I think the BX2360 will do fine for the things you are planning. As Bp fick said, the ground clearance is the same on the BX2360, 2660, and B25. It is a little less (though the specs say more) on the BX1860 because of the smaller stock tires. The BX2660 does provide more torque (larger engine) for things like running a PTO bagger at the same time as the mmm, chipping brush, or running a larger snowblower, but the BX2360 will do those things too.

Thanks for the replies. I've been juggling so many model numbers that I fried my brain. I was aware that the ground clearance is the same on the 2000 series, not sure why I typed it.

When I went to replace my BX2200, I looked at all of them and initially wanted the B2920 due to extra ground clearance and power. After months of looking and researching I went with the BX2660 as most of the use is mowing, about 65% and the BX2660 is still a pretty good tractor.

A BX2360, will do just about anything the BX2660 will, but for me the increased comfort was well worth the extra money. I paid $1400 for mine with FEL, 60" MMM, grill guard and wheel weights, but that was several months ago.

Triple R, I assume you ment $14,000.

I bought a BX2350, which is the earlier version of the 2360, about a year and a half ago. So far I have been pretty happy with it. Are there things I would change if I designed it, yes, but overall its great. I also own about 3 acres and I keep asking myself how I got by without it. I use mine for about 1/2 mowing and 1/2 FEL work. Two things that suprised me about my machine. The first is how well it cuts the grass. The second is how much I use the FEL.

Unless you think you need the extra 3hp, I'd stick with the 23hp. Reasons for needing the extra hp would be a pto generator, chipper, getting a large rear finish mower or something like that. For FEL work and a MMM, you won't miss the 3 hp.

As far as price goes, I think you are getting a pretty good price, I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but I think I paid a little more for mine. Maybe $500 more.

I think you will find most people on this site love their BX's

The BX2660 has a better seat but probably not worth several hundred dollars better. Contact Barlows and price out both machines. Some here have paid very little more for BX2660 over other BX's. Depends on price to dealer and date of manufacture. An increased price to dealer means an increased price to customer.

That price seems about right. I just bought my BX2660 last week with Loader, 60" MMM, and wheel weights for $14,400. Barlow's had quoted me $14,200, so my dealer was fairly close. (Mind you, the spending didn't stop there. After I bought it I decided I wanted rear hydraulics and a grill guard as well...) :)
