My temperature gauge started to misbehave last winter. Using the FEL and rear blade to move snow, I know it wasn't over heating at all, so I just let it slide. The behavior has continued this summer and I just haven't bothered to really check it out.
The behavior is that is flutters a lot, like many times a second. It bounces between off and a point on the gauge that I would consider normal operating temperature. The question is, how do I know if the gauge is bad, the sensor is bad, or there's a wire that has gotten the insulation scraped off somehow? Or maybe the wire is loose and barely making contact? I have a parts manual, but haven't taken the time to dig it out yet and look for the sensor, so I'm not sure where it is located.
Any tips for how to debug this?
