I know that there has been alot of discussion here about these hoses. But I searched and couldn't find these answers exactly:

Does removing the dash help access to the steering wheel end of the hoses?

Are there any "Kubota only" ends of these hoses that would prevent me from getting some better hoses made up by my local shop?

Are all four 3rd party hoses going to fit into the routing spaces?

Is this just a nightmare better done by the dealer? (Cash is very tight)

The hoses to the hydro pump have some funky ends on them where they attach to the steering controller.
My dealer ordered those two from Kubota and then made the two that go to the front rack.
Nothing about running or attaching those hoses is pleasant or easy. In the end, I chose to have the dealer do it but it's expensive!! It was a $400 bill for me.
Hopefully I'm good for another 7 years!!

You will have to remove the battery and steering wheel and enough to peel the dash back. I got to that point before discovering the hoses would not detatch from the steering controller with the wrenches I had.

You could probably expand the openings along the hose route if need be.

Thanks for the reply, I thought that it would be a PITA to fix, not looking forward to changing them out. Wonder if some J.B. Weld and some toilet paper would hold?
:(

I replaced one of the long hoses a couple of years ago. I removed it and took it to a local hydraulic shop and they made me a new one for about $20.
It took awhile to get the hose on and off since you could only turn the fitting a tiny bit at a time. The front connection was the hardest to remove and install because there is very little room to get a wrench into the space.

I just did my 1800 both back hose from the dear one was $20+- the other $30+-

it is not too bad to do yourself if you have a place and the time (and don't get upset easy)
Take out the battery and the floor pan (this can be a little bit of a pain but not bad) You have to take the floor pan out as the hoses have a clamp that bolts to the top of the fame. (nice design there Kubota)
I also removed my left rear tire.

I did not remove my dash so I can't say if it would help or not

After first used or two check and make sure the ends are still tight.

I reluctantly bought new hoses from the dealer against other local mechanic's advise. The new hoses will likely leak in 5-6 years but they are shaped exactly like the old ones so I figured it would make a nasty job a little easier. I only removed the battery and lifted the floor deck up a little (after removing the seat). There is a certain sequence to remove and install the hoses but you don't have to remove the steering wheel or the dash. Take the $350 you save and add the real alternator, some ROPS lights, maybe some underglow lights...
