I was running my Brother in-law's BX2200 with a front-end loader when I noticed hydraulic fluid leaking. Upon inspection I noticed it was coming out of what appears to be a hydraulic pressure relief valve. It is located under the seat and has a red button in the center on a rubber washer. I let it cool down and I checked the hydraulic fluid and it is reading way past the last hash mark on the dipstick. He bought it used and he said he has never added fluid or changed the fluid and he has never had the leak before. It was over 90 degrees today and I was running with full loads of gravel. Is this a pressure relief valve? Should I drain some fluid out down to the line on the dipstick? Why would it do it today but not for the last year?
Thanks!!
