Due to USER ERROR I cannot attach my FEL. I took the FEL off and forgot to put the support stands down to support the FEL. Some friends helped me lift the FEL and when I went attach the FEL the hoses would not reach. As a result the side arms are parallel with the ground instead of 90'. Is there a way to manually force the boom cylinders in? Any advice??

may be you can pull tractor up along the side of fel and attach hoses. and SLOWLY move the cylinders into the correct position, disconnect and try to reattach.

Moving the tractor along side the FEL will work. If there isn't enogh room, you may have to move the loader.

I hate to admit it but I kinda did the same thing :)
My arms weren't parallel but they were close, just
close enough to get the hoses connectd so I was able
to get it working.

I think that if you pull the tractor inside the arms you
should be able to get the hoses connected, there is probably
some play with the arms.

Good Luck

The connections for the FEL to the tractor are what is called dry disconnect. The only way to move the cylinders with any speed is to get either the male and or female ends so that you can "open" the lines. Fluid will either come out or air will enter depending on which way you are moving the cylinder. After moving the cylinder and reattaching the FEL to the tractor you will need to bleed the system by working the controls. After that you will need to check the fluid level and top off as necessary.
Hope this helps

If you can pull in and heave up on the FEL and get the connectors on, have someone who can creep the tractor forward as it goes in or you will put alot of force on the hoses.

As the others have said, you can pull up along side of it and hook up the hoses to retract the FEL lift cylinders, disconnect, then pull in properly and hook it up.

Just for grins, though, I'd sure like to know how the heck you got the FEL off without the stands to support the FEL. Curious minds want to know!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Trust me, you can remove the FEL without the stands....I almost did but caught my error just in time.
I imagine that there would have been a bit of a crashing sound....wouldn't want to get my feet in the way!

Very Carefully!

One of the side arms was caught in the side frame so I had to manually lift the side arm out of the side frame. Once I did that it was already so screwed up that I was able to ease it down to the ground.

I tried driving the tractor up to the side but I am still a good bit short of attaching. I think I am going to get something that will support the loader so that I can lower the loader manually and then attach from the side.

Oh well, live and learn.

Just remove the quick connects from both hoses but keep a bucket underneath them to catch the fluid that will come out then have someone else lift up the loader arms with the valve in "float" and lock the stands in the installation position. Re-install the quick connects hook up like normal then cycle the loader and top off the fluid that you lost. This is probably the easiest & quickest way to get you out of your mess.
