I keep looking at the Curtis Cabs and thinking that it would be real nice on the BX. My cheap $125 golf cart cab is nice, it does the job, BUT well you know, perhaps $2K is not so bad. So a few questions for those who have a Curtis cab.

Did you pay full price as per Curtis Web site?, if not, how much did you pay? Did prices vary from one dealer to another?
Did you pay for shipping, if so, how much?
Did you install the cab or did the dealer install, if so, how much did it cost?
Do you take it off in the summer, if so, how much trouble is it?
Since I use a rear snowblower, can you get glass for the rear?, any idea of the cost?

Thanks

I do not have a cab on my BX, but I do have one on my B2410 and it is the Curtis soft-sided. I use a 60" 3PH blower in the winter.
I bought it through the dealer I bought the tractor from. Did my own research, told them what I wanted and they ordered it. I paid list price but the shipping was via their normal delivery routes, so no extra cost to me.
It comes in several boxes and is a handful. I installed it myself and it was not too bad of a project. A couple of holes did not quite line up but the drill solved that. The hole for the hydraulic controller was not a perfect match and this was more of a challenge.
Not something I would want to do for a living but do-able if you have the proper tools.
Doors go on and off easy and the back has a snap on soft panel, which stays unsnapped at the bottom so I can reach out and rotate the chute.
You would not want to remove the basic cab during the summer- way too much work, but with the doors and rear panel removed it is fine.

I have the Curtis soft side cab on my BX2200. Bought it in 2000 about 3 months after I bought the tractor. I bought it through my dealer and paid $1250 plus tax. I believe that the web site price at the time was $1350. I wasn't charged anything for shipping. I had my dealer install it as the tractor was there for the fuel tank replacement anyway. (Was not leaking yet but dealer knew of the recall so I set up the appointment for it.) Dealer told me that he usually charges $300 to install but as I bought my tractor there he would only charge me $150 to install. I don't take it off in the summer as the doors, side, and back windows all can be taken off for ventilation. I still have protection from the sun and rain then. As for the back glass question, you could replace it with a piece of plexiglass if you wanted but I don't know what the cost would be.

The roof of my cab sits about 3 inches higher than the ROPS. My lights are about 4 inches higher than the roof.
