BX-2200 60\" Mover Deck

Anybody have the part numbers handy for the Standard (Low Lift) and also the High Lift blades for the RCK60B-22BX mower deck? Are these the only two Kubota sells for this deck? Also any good online sites to purchase them from?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: BX-2200 60\" Mover Deck

I just searched on Kubota's support site and found it interesting that while the BX2200 and BX2230 have the exact same mower deck, they list different blades.

BX2200 - K5371-34330
BX2230 - K5371-99040

Re: BX-2200 60\" Mover Deck

Not sure re. the #'s, but I know they also have mulching blades available. I have a BX2200 with 60" MMM. I put on the mulching blades & the mulching baffle kit. It's great. Everything is turned into powder. No thatch, no bagging. Better yet, I no longer have to fertilize the lawn-the composted clippings return the nutrients to the soil rather than the nutrients getting carried off in the bagger!!!

Re: BX-2200 60\" Mover Deck

I have wondered about this, does it do that well even in high grass. i cut at 3 to 3.5 inches and when I am cutting sometimes it is like 5 or 6 inches high.

I would do this in a second, but my luck with mulching blades previous to the bota have been less than perfect.

how much was the baffle kit.

Re: BX-2200 60\" Mover Deck

My new growth comes at the end of our rainy season (winter) just as our dry spring begins. By the time the sod is dry enough to support the 1800 lb. of BX2200 & MMM, the grass is taller than the summertime normal when I cut each week. Parts of my lawn have much better topsoil than others so the lawn is higher in some places than others. On the first cut of the season I have to make a choice between 3 options: 1) With the mulch blades & baffles on, cut it short in 1 pass then rake up the thatch. 2) Take off the mulch baffles & blades, put on the regular blades, blower, & bagger, cut, then change back again for the rest of the season. 3) With the mulch eqpt. on, do 1 pass with the MMM deck at a height just above the tallest grass. Make multiple passes and lower the deck a little each time. This way you take off an amount small enough for it to mulch rather than getting thatch build up. On the first cut of the year I have to do 3 passes on my back yard, but only 2 on the front because the soil in the rear is more fertile than in the front. I find option 3 to be the easiest by far. For the rest of the season, it cuts in one pass. I'll have to dig out the receipt to find the baffle price. I'll try to re-post that info. asap.

My dealer said that every one he sold, the people were unhappy with. He doesn't recommend them. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: BX-2200 60\" Mover Deck

Junkman, Wonder if the type of grass makes any difference? I have Tall Fescue with a little KY Bluegrass mixed in. It does fine. Now if it's soakin' wet it may leave tiny amounts of thatch, but not much. Also, you can't just let it grow for a month then expect for it all to turn to dust; you'll get mucho thatch for sure unless you go back & take it off a little each pass. But as long as I mow weekly and after it's had a chance to dry out some from the sprinklers, it works really quite well. You have to keep the blades sharp; I grind mine at the begining of each season with my angle grinder. Also, you gotta' have the mulching blades. I can't figure why a dealer would have so many negative responses. Do 'ya think maybe he's sellin' 'em baffles but not the change of blades to go with it, or vice versa?

Re: BX-2200 60\" Mover Deck

Don't know what he was selling, but he definitely told me in no uncertain terms that if I were to buy the mulching kit, that if I didn't like it, I would have to live with it. No REFUNDS!.... Said that the last 4 he sold, he had to remove and refund because of unhappy customers. Maybe, I should ask him to sell me one of the used ones???
I cut the grass yesterday and it was at least 15" high. This was the first opportunity that I could get into the field since it was so wet and mushy. The blades cut it down and pulverized it well enough that today it is in rows ready to be raked up. I doubt that the mulching blades would have cut it any finer that it already is. The only thing that I would have done differently is that I should have propped the chute door open on the side of the deck so the clippings would have been better dispersed. Overall, I am very pleased with my 60" deck. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

That's it! I'm getting the mulcher.
