After reading a few posts about hitches (or lack of) on the BX series, i decided to make my own.
I like some of the ones i saw online here, but didn't like anything for sale commercially (or ebay).
My priority was to have a ball hitch and a loop for attaching a tow strap for pulling stuff (like trees, etc).
All parts custom fabricated in my garage.
The front receiver was made from 1/4 flat steel and a 12" tube, cut in half. The second half of the tube was welded onto another 1/4 piece of steel and holes drilled to mount of the rear. I also used a 1 1/2:" X 2" tube to raise the receiver tube op more. The ends were welded shut. I used a pintle hitch, but cut off a few inches and used the stub to mount onto another tube. The front pintle tube was notched on the top to clear the FEL hydraulic hose, so this can remain in the front at all times. The ball mount with tow loops will stay in the back and can be swapped as long as the bucket is not in place.
All parts are powder coated for longevity. It's all complete except the pins for the D-Rings (loops) and I am modifying the pins with a hairpin and not the screw in pin ( i am afraid vibration will cause it to fall out).
i am pretty happy with how it all turned out!! I hope you think so too!
