I recently got the urge for a tractor for my 41-acres. It
has been cut-over (3 years ago). I had been depending
on a friend to help me with my food plots but you know
how that goes. I called my brother-in-law (who is sales
manager for a JD dealer and told him I needed a used
tractor. He said he would keep his eyes open. Lo and
behold the NEXT morning he called to tell me that a
man had called the dealer with a JD990 (40.4HP) and
a JD MX5 cutter. It was a 2001 model with only
69 hours on it (looked like new). He had only used
it to mow 1 1/2 acres of yard. After looking at it I paid
his asking price of $8500. UNBELIEVABLE! I have
since added a 6 1/2 ft disc and 5-ft harrow. Also a
boom pole. Next will be a box blade. What a deal!!!!!!
