How does the AQHA membership work when buying a compact
tractor from a JD dealer? I have been quoted $25,295 for a 4720. The AQHA people told me I could get 20% off list for this tractor. That would make the tractor around $23,000, and
I could get 20% off any implement as well.

Thanks
Les

You have to be a lifetime member of AQHA, about a $500 cost. Then you have to be a member for I believe 1 year before becoming a member of the Members Plus AQHA Program. To become a member of the MPAQ you must have a legitimate horse business. There is an application process to go through where they check your business and make sure it qualifies. You have to provide tax statements, business #'s, Tax ID #'s, etc. If you do not have a legitimate horse business you will not qualify.

But you can join the EAA (Experimental Aircraft) and get $250 off a deere right off the bat. Cost is $40. But that is no where near the 20% off.

You can also join AQHA as a regular member and after 30 days get a $500 rebate. I think it costs $40 just to join as a regular member.

The 20% is a good deal but it is also limited. It usually isn't available on any new models. 20% is also the high end. On other stuff it's only 10% or less. Not all attachments qualify for the 20%. Also you get NO special financing either. If they are offering 0% you don't get that. It is financed through the national account at around 7%. If you finance and it's something where you could get 0% you're usually better off going with the 0% financing and making a good deal with the dealer.
