My father is 81 and shopping for his first tractor. Looking at a LS MT122 with loader and backhoe. He lives on 2.5 acres and wants a tractor to do the lifting and hauling that is getting harder to do by hand. I own a Montana 2844R which was made by LS, and it has been extremely reliable and I would buy a LS without hesitation if I needed a new tractor.
My question is for anyone who owns a LS MT122 or 125, are they durable machines? Particularly the backhoe and how it mounts to the tractor. Is there a subframe that connects to the middle or front of the tractor? I could not find any pics showing a subframe.
He will use it to plant trees, move firewood, clear some woods, dig a drainage trench, dig post holes etc. No swimming pools, moving boulders. Maybe get the snowblower for winter and a tiller for the garden.
Thanks in advance for any info and advice.
