I have looked at all the previous posting concerning trailers, still need advice.
Buying my first trailer for my CK30 with B.H. > I dont think I will be traveling more than 100 miles round trip. What size and weight would you suggest.

I am shopping for a trailer as well. I have a CK30, my dealer told me minimum of 7000lbs, dual axles, brakes on both axles. I went to the local trailer place, by the time I add the electric brake controller, wiring, leveling hitch to my truck, and the 18' 8000lb rated trailer... the bill is just shy of $5K. I can hire somebody to transport it lots of times for that kind of money.

I have a CK25 with FEL & the KB2375. I bought an 10K 18' trailer about a 1.5 years ago for about $2800. It has a 2' beaver tail so you get 16' of flat deck and then the last 2 feet taper down, with fold up ramps. I was looking at the 20' trailers but where I bought mine the 20' trailers jumped up to 12K. They didn't have 10K 20' which would be nice but after trying to maneuver a loaded trailer attached to an extra cab truck, you start to run out of real estate quickly. I wouldn't hesitate towing my setup for way more than 100 miles. (Other than the price of gas) The trailer has brakes on both axles and the truck has an electric brake controller. I don't think you would want go smaller than 18'. You could probably get a way with a 16' total overall length but I think you might have too much hanging off one end or the other. Like I said, with my 18' I wouldn't hesitate any distance of hauling.

Check out these trailers at Appalachian Trailer Sales

I have the 16' tilt bed 10,000 GVA axels. and love it for my ck30. The equipment trailers they build for skidders and tractors are great. Prices are great if you did as I did and pick them up at either of the factory's in Salem OH or in PA.

What did you get for a trailer and where did you get it? That price is about $1500 less than what I was quoted for same length, with BT, for only 8K lb loading.

Hello Ix, I have an 18ft 10k trailer with dual brakes, twin 6200lb axles, and a 2 ft dovetail . I payed about 2800 plus tax about 1 1/2 years ago. My Ck30 and 80x backhoe just fit, there is not alot of wiggle room. This lenth works fine for my uses. If you planned on putting extra implements on as well you may want a 20ft. I would not however get anything less then a 10k in my opinion.. I bought from Versatile trailers here in Upstate NY. Good luck.. Matt

The way I figured the weight, when you include the weights of fuel, chains, binders, loaded tires, tools, etc. It was just too close on a 7K trailer. I have a 10K, 20 ft. Fits nice. Paided $2375 new last spring. When I looked the cheapest prices were in Tennesee, SC, and Arkansas.

I purchased a used tri-axle 18 foot beaver tail tilting trailer. 18,000lb capacity, deck over. I completely rebuilt the undercarriage and have brakes on two of the three axles. It easily handles my Kioti LK3054 TLB and my Deere 350B dozer. My advice is buy more than you think you'll need and you'll be set, when ever you purchase "just" what you think you need you run out of capacity quick. Better more than less when it comes to equipment. I tow with a 3/4 ton (1 ton sprung and towing gears). The tilting makes loading and unloading super easy.

My LB1914 TLB is smaller so this won't be much help but I bought a new dual axle 6.5'x16'
7000# with brakes on one axle for just over $1105. Painted orange to match the tractor too. :D

Website doesn't offer much information.
I know the owners but paid the same price as everyone else.
They will even build several trailers and stack them up on top of one trailer. You could take them back and sell the others to your buddies.
Sikeston is called the trailer capitol by some people.
