Hi, I am ready to purchase a Kubota L5740 Grand with the Grand Cab, does anyone have a recommendation for a heavy duty backhoe that will fit this machine without any problems?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks ;)

I have a 5030HSTC with a Rhino 85 sub-frame, the model just before the 5740 generation. I have examined all of the specs (in case I buy one), and they look very similar to the 5030.

I talked to my Dealer's wrench and he said he was 95% sure that the subframe mount would bolt straight on to the 40 series with no problems.

I called Rhino; they would not say OK to do it because "we have not tested it".

I got the distinct impression that it was probably a good fit, but a CYA answer (understandably).

If I were doing it again, I would get the 95 for a little more umph.

I cant speak for the cab portion of this question, but for what its worth.....

I got the Woods BH90X for my L5740HST Because it sits the operator a little further back than the kubota hoe, this allows for a more comfortable seating position. The woods hoe also has thumb options. I opted for the hydraulic thumb, which i love.

I could swear that the dealer had a BH90X on a grand L40 with a cab, but cant remember 100%.

Woods, no doubt. I also sell the Rhino backhoes... the Woods is much better.

I second 2Botas' and Neil's recommendations. Woods BH90X would probably work fine with a cab. Sits quite a ways back on my L4300. I'm pretty happy with it and like the thumb alot. I wouldn't say it's "construction grade" heavy duty, but it's probably at least as tough as your L5740.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, I have heard that the Bradco has had some mounting problems with the Grand Cab L5740HSTC's at some dealers, I live in Buffalo N.Y. and am hoping that I could find someone close to here to mount it correctly if I got one.

I ran into this, but it all got resolved without issue. Bradco has a fabrication jig issue, but it's fixed now and mine fits fine,

Hayden,

I read this thread and also your original thread on your new purchase (congrats by the way). http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-buying-pricing/111269-wow-now-thats-tractor.html

I am getting ready to purchase a L5740 cab tractor as well and was told by the dealer that I couldn't get a backhoe if I had the cab version. I guess he meant I couldn't get the Kubota backhoe because obviously the Bradco and Woods ones work, at least. Not sure why he didn't offer that up, but I plan to ask him about it tomorrow.

I was planning to get 2 rear remotes and was wondering whether I should go ahead and get all 3 remotes at this point if I plan to get a backhoe in the future. I read the comment on remotes in your original thread, but being new to the tractor world, I didn't completely follow the explanation. I think you mentioned that you actually had 5 sources of hydraulics and only used a portion for the backhoe. Basically I'm wondering whether the Bradco bh, if I got that model, would utilize all 3 remotes or what the minimum it would utilize would be (without having to bungee the control lever open).

Also, I'm assuming the answer is "no" but does adding the backhoe in any way affect your Kubota warranty or is this a "sanctioned" attachment? Also, should I expect my Kubota dealer to be able to install the bh, or would I need to do myself or have a Bradco dealer do it?

One last thing. Did you need to add any additional weight to the front because of the size of the BH, or was the FEL sufficient ballast?

Thanks!

Dave
