Buying a FEL for an MX5000

I'm looking at buying a front end loader for my MX5000 sometime in the spring. The local yokal Kubota dealer told me it would be 4700 for a FEL plus 360 for the hay spike. I seem to remember them being less expensive then that when I was buying the tractor. Also, I have heard that bush hog brand loaders are better.

I'm going to be using this for moving hay some, clearing fence lines, moving dirt for people (I do tractor work on the side) and things like that. I dont want something that'll break the first time I bump a stump with it. I also want to be able to take it off without having to get NASA engineers out to help me.

What do you guys thing are normal prices for these? Any recommendation as to model/make I should be shopping for? Any good dealers in south MS or AL?

I've listened to people tell me that they need a heavier loader then the manufacturer before.

I don't go there any more! Who do you think knows the most about your tractor capacities?

A manufacturer that doesn't build tractors but is looking for the most bang for the buck out of one design that may fit one brand or size well and settles into a little of this and that to make it fit 100 others?

To many broken pieces later, stay with sizes that are recommended by the manufacturer. Something that doesn't stick out two foot further then the manufacturers does and doesn't pick more then there design.

When pricing a tractor it is always cheaper at the assembly time of it to install attachments then later! Plus this year all the companies prices went up with the steel.

Now that the MX5000 is officially a "prior model" it's possible you could get a good deal on a new-old-stock original LA852 or LB702 loader for it. Kubota may still have some in inventory. A suggestion would be to call Messick's or Carver Equipment and ask then how sharp their pencil could get.

I have a 2006 MX5000 with the LA852 HD loader. I think the loader was over $4K when I bought it. I can't speak for the other brands of loaders but the
LA852 seems to be a winner.

Ok, thanks for the input. When I was buying the tractor they were right at 4 grand, I guess now they are right at 5. Basically at the time I could either get 4WD or a loader and I picked the 4WD and I am GLAD I did. I still want the loader, but I dont know if I'm going to get it this year or not. I still need a disk, seed spreader and 2 row cultivator, so I might go after that this year.

Has anyone noticed that the MX5100 is now like 20% more expensive then the MX5000? Thats nuts.

Jump on this one if you can.

Here is a guy that is selling a LA852 loader from a MX5000 on ebay. We are not allowed to post a link to ebay here so go do a search on "Kubota Tractor 4560 Backhoe Attachment MX5000DT".

Note he has actually advertised a backhoe for sale but in the last picture he has a LA852 loader and in the text he says that he has a loader from the MX5000DT for sale also.

I bet he will make you a deal as it is going to be hard for him to sell the LA852 as most people who want a loader for their tractor tend to get them upfront.

Make him an offer and do a bit of driving or get it shipped up to you. Don't wait too long. Its rare that you find just the right FEL or backhoe attachment that you need second hand!

I have a 2007 Rhino 1595 loader that was never sold or installed. It has a 72" SSL style quick attach bucket. It may be missing a few nuts and bolts from sitting for so long. It only fits the MX5000 not the 5100. I need $3290 for it. I'm in Houston.
