I have a 4' Clipper 400 bush hog with a protective slip clutch on the pto shaft. Can anyone tell me the proper way to adjust the tension on the disc plate? This has been sitting up a while, and just want to make sure it will function properly. Thanks,Kenny

Use the search function for "pto clutch" or "slip clutch". Many to choose from like this one: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachments/119531-how-properly-adjust-king-kutter.html

Basically loosen the ring of bolts until it slips when mowing, then tighten each bolt one turn at a time until it stops slipping. Mow -check temp -adjust, mow, check temp adjust, etc. It will get warm if it's slipping. Many intentionally slip the clutch at the beginning of the season to dislodge rust, etc. then retighten. Often just count the turns loosened & retighten the same number of turns. MikeD74T
