Bush Hog Rotary Cutter

I need the left side gear box output shaft for a Bush Hog Model 160/1600, Serial # 601943. Bush Hog will only sell as a shaft kit for $480.00! This is an old cutter and I don't want to put that much for one part. Does anyone know of any after market parts that may be available or a dealer that may have some new/old stock. I purchased one shaft only many years ago from a dealer.
I have tried to find a junked cutter but have not found one. The left side and right side should have the same shaft.

See if you get a "will fit" box from Agri-supply. May have redrill a couple of mounting holes, but should be do-able. bjr

If you can get the part number, it looks like Messick's and a few other places can probably get you the correct replacement for a lot less than $480.

I actually contacted Messick's. All they have is the Shaft kit for $480.00.

Thanks. They do have a 75 HP gear box that may work. I would really like to find a shaft for the original box. The nearest Agi store is 3 plus hours from me but I will try to go & see if it will work. I don't want to order online unless I know it will fit my machine. Thanks again. Ken
