Anyone out there operating one how do they hold up? Thinking about putting one on the Kubota M6800 and the Bush Hog is about $500-$700 cheaper than the Kubota loader.
Do yourself a favor. Do a search for m246 on TBN. Good link here Mosey
Personally I would spend the extra money and have the Kubota. This way if you have problems no one can point fingers. It is just my personal opinion others may not have a problem with it.
The Bush Hog loader is a good unit. It probably will not look as good on the tractor as the Kubota loader will, mostly because kubota makes loaders for only kubota so they tend to fit & look better. I'm not sure about the paint on the new Bush Hog loaders but the paint on the older loaders faded and got chaulkey before I thought it should have.
Murph,
I agree. I think if I had a M6800 I would spring for the extra money to have a Kubota loader. That being said, I don't think one would be disappointed with the BH loader. I've had one on my 175 Allis (63 hp) since mid 1990s. It has served me well and the paint is still very bright. BTW, there is a thread on TBN about paint color to match Kubota. Well Bota paint and my Allis match pretty well.
I run a BH loader on my smaller B8200 Kubota(grandaddy to the B2710). It was worked out just perfect for me. I looked not only at the price, but the dealer. I have a great independant shop a couple miles away that does great work. His price was a couple hundred less, but his service is what swayed me.
Fit and finish, and function is good on my setup. I've had it about 5 years now, and have worked it good; it has done well.
