bulldozer track

I just got a Mitsubishi BD2 GII and I need to know something about the tracks. The left track work great, but when I pull on the right track it tries to kill the engine. I have to pull and let go real fast to keep it running. Does anyone know a good fix.

Sounds like the steering clutch is not releasing on the right side, and when you pull back far enough for the braking action, you're trying to stop both sides, through the cross shaft.

Maybe just needs adjustment, or broken linkage, or maybe just a pin came out, on said linkage.

Did this come on gradual, or all at once. If all at once, I'd be checking the linkage.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and there are some pages in PDF showing your clutch/brake system. Lots of linkage there with more than likely splined belcranks to disengage the clutch, before applying the brake.

Hopefully, it is something simple... Just have to pull that floor plate, and take a peek...

I played with the adjustment on the linkage and it work great now. It was not working when I got the bulldozer. It sat in this guys backyard out in the rain for 4 years. When I asked him about it he said I could have it for
$2000. I found a kill under the set and turn it on. It stated up and I drove down the side of the highway (we live in AR) for 7 miles to get home. I have put $200 into fixing it and it now works great. He also has a 1954 Farmall in the bushes. I hate to see good tractors die for no reson.
