Tractor
PowerTrac 1850, Kubota RTV x900
In the never ending list of toys I want, could not find one local cheap...

3/8" steel, Back plate is 1/2" Measure 56X56 flat.

$375 for steel and bending
$65 for quick attach (tractor specific)
$12 for paint
$20 for welding rod
$15 for grinding wheels (so far)

About a day of agravation as this was also my first welding project since high school (a while ago).

Now to see if it will hold up.

I don't know if it will hold up or not... but I sure wouldn't want to be standing in front of you and your machine when you come calling! Them's the kind of things that nightmares and horror films are made of!!! :D

Just picked up my very similar "stump bucket" today:

$339.00 plus $125.00 shipping. No welding on my part 'cause I'm old & lazy and still don't know how to do a very good job.

Have you had a chance to try it out?

I am looking at building a smaller version of your bucket for my FEL. Let me know how it works out for you.

I know this thing looks mean, but it is the same dimensions as the plans here on TBN. I just added the front point...

So far not so good. My land is DRY right now. Like a frickin rock. I can get small trees, but the idea was to get bigger trees. May have to wait until Fall....

I almost bought the one for 339, but I needed to try and get up larger trees.... Still ike that one, though...

Dougster,
I like your stump bucket. Where can it be purchased?
Thanks

There are a bunch of them on eBay. All slightly different designs and prices. I liked this design best and it also happened to be one of the least expensive. Got it from the same guy out of NC from whom I bought my Piranha root/rock grapple in January. Had been trying to do a "triple play" with him... stump bucket, toothed digging bucket and pallet forks... but the pricing with shipping just never quite worked out. A Loflin toothed digging bucket (sold locally) should work out better for me anyway.

This stump bucket is literally a little rough around the edges and kinda sticky/sloppy painted, but who cares? It's a stump bucket after all. :)

It's not just mean. That thing is downright sinister. Perfect for scaring the neighborhood kids away.

I had nightmares last night just thinking about it.

Woodland,

That is a very cool "Pointy-Thing" you got there, I like the tractor/machine it's hitched to , also. What is it?

Power-Trac 1850 60 hp All Hydraulic articulated tractor. Rated at 45 degree slopes sideways (thats why I bought it). Upside is amazingly manueverable, all implements in front where you can see them, simple and sturdy as a tank.

Downside is it isl like and Abrams tank, it has a tendency to overheat, has no dealer support outside of the manufacturer, and is all hydraulic so it can leak a bit. Variious flavors of small to large. I am beyond happy with the purchase, although I curse it every day.

Carl

ps, there is a very active forum on TBN in the other tractor section.
