Here's a thing I'm trying to finish for best performance. I used 2.5 inch pipe and 1/2 inch rods 4 &1/2 inches long to build this harrow/drag. So far, it seems to hold up, but my soil is too wet to work. I'm pulling it with a chain, trying to keep it light enough to flip it over when "transporting" it (angle iron skids on the front). See attached photos.
One problem I had yesterday was the tendency of the thing to want to tip up from the back as the front end starts to "dig in". It's far enough back behind the tractor but scary to see the tail rise up like it's gonna smack you when it digs in at the front.
I wonder if I should add more weight to the rear of it? I have a chain welded to the back 2 cross members with the intention of pulling the disc harrow I made for my ATV, just to help break up and level the plowing a bit more.
Sorry, my bad, BTW, as I should have posted to "Build-it Yourself". Can I move it to that section??
