We have an older Yanmar 226 diesel. The other day, the bucket would lift, but not tilt out or inwards. Then the following day, the bucket wouldn't move at all. We have replaced hydraulic hoses and couplers, which leaked when we bought the tractor last year. We added hydraulic fluid. Still, the bucket will not operate. It still has one hose that has a small leak to it, about the size of a saucer is to be found after it sits for several days.
A tractor dealer wants to come out and haul the tractor in to be fixed, and $$$ for pickup/delivery and labor and parts. We are down to one income here, and frankly, this terrifies me.
Is this most likely the hydraulic pump that's taken a dump? Or could it be something simpler? How big a deal is it to replace the hydraulic pump, and is there any way to test it first?
Please help. They are due for pickup on Friday.....
Thanks
