The shanks on bucket of 485 backhoe snap like pretzels and are welded on. I cut them off and replaced with Hensley, haven't had a problem since.

How many hours did you have on them? I would think they should last a while.

i broke 1 of mine also on my 375 , called my sales man and he sent me 3 new ones , he said i was the 3rd person in a week , they must of had a bad run of parts ,welded the new one on and havent had a problem since , that was about 2 yrs ago

Got tired of replacing mine, went with excavator teeth never had a problem since:thumbsup:

This happened to me on my 448, the shanks just kept snapping. Where the breaks were you could see air pockets in the forging. After several replacements(under warranty) I finally got some good ones. I also like to pre heat them before welding. I just put them in the rod oven over night.

For the amount of time it takes to cut one off and weld a new one on your better off changing brands. I took me two times to figure this out.
