Got a call today that the bucket wasn't working. When I went out to check, one of the hinge pins was missing. I retraced tracks in the snow and was lucky enough to find the pin. Looks like it's neve been greased - oh well.

Question:
How is this pin retained? It was dark and cold out there tonight, so I'm going out in the morning to chip frozen grain by-products off the bucket and see if I can get the pin back it.

OK, I figured out the pin was retained by the bolt that rusted away.

Next question:
  1. Anyone able to tell me how to press/pound/cut the old bushing out of the arm?
  2. Also, the bucket realease won't budge on one side. Any tricks to get it loose?

The fastest way I have found to get the bushings out is to cut through them with a carbide bit in a die grinder. I usually grind through them in 2 places 180 degrees apart, then they come out in 2 pieces. If you trust yourself to not cut into the Bob-tach you might try a cutting torch.

Thanks
My torch skills are very rusty (and I don't have a torch) so I'll try the die grinder route.

Have a friend with a machine shop. Going to have him make me a tool for pressing the new bushing it. Maybe weld the old bushing to the old pin, if I can get one out relatively intact.

Think my next investment will be a torch. Last week I had to borrow one so I could get some busted wheel studs out. Everything seems to need lots of heat on this machine.

The big problem with using a torch is lighting all that grease on fire.

RE your bucket release, I had the same problem - my skidsteer had a 4 way bucket when I got it, and I don't think it had ever been removed. Soaked the pin from top and bottom with PB Blaster and let it sit overnight. Also, if you raise the lift arms, you can get access to the back of the attachment plate - I had a pin that rode a slot in the bushing, and could oil that from the back of the plate as well. Soak it, wiggle it, tap on it. Repeat a few times and it should start to move/Worked for me.

As you can see from the picture of the old pin, grease fires won't be a problem on this machine. We're calling it our "3300 hr never lube special".
