Some time back, I welded hooks on the 2660 and 23. They have greatly improved the utility and safety of rigging on the tractors. I put the FEL hooks on some heavy channel to get the load above the return on the bucket. I know this is not new, but if you don稚 have them, you will be much happier on your tractor with them. 24538BA7-D257-49A2-A59E-3D2F72BF507D.jpeg43F161DE-5555-41CF-90C8-FF891C3952C7.jpeg

Just every once in a while I can make a weld that looks that good. Nice work. Hooks are handy.

The bigger ones are 3ton weld on lifting hooks from Amazon, $20. Good for straps, rings and rope.

I have used angle iron to box that rolled top lip of the bucket to prevent bending. Doesn’t take much to add a lot of strength.

Very nice welds, do you weld for a living? I can't imagine not having hooks on a FEL bucket!

Hmmm, That receiver hitch on the bucket is a good idea. I put 5 of those in my shop floor for pull and anchor points. They have worked out well. I didn't show it but on the 2660 I put an eye for a 3/4" shackle in the center.

Thanks. I was a Union pipe fitter/welder 40 yrs ago. I was a hand back then. I left the trade and am a hobbyist now. The shown welds came out ok, mostly because I could get right on top of them and SEE what I was doing. Life is a humbling experience;)

Amen brother! On becoming humble with age. Used to be scary strong. Now just scary.

Very nice work.

I'm no welder, not even a cobble something up guy, so every time I need something welded I need to hire an acquaintance of mine who IS a very good welder. Sadly, his time is very hard to get and some of my little jobs just don't get done.

I see you used the weld-on hooks rather than cutting/grinding down chain hooks. The weld-on hooks make for a much nicer job but many folks are unaware of them because you won't find them at TSC. I buy mine at my local tractor and implement (not lawn and garden) store who orders them from TISCO because they too do not keep them in stock.

Kudos for your work.
