Brushhog vs Dirt Dog vs Rhino vs ?

Looking at a Hydraulic rear blade and a box blade. What's everyone's choice? Can't seem to find much on most of these brands here in my searches. Looking for American Made as much as possible with a little better build quality than Landpride seems to offer if possible.

EA isn't an option for me.

You are in Georgia. Dirt Dog implements are manufactured in Georgia.

So, you don't care for the RBT series rear blades that Land Pride offers? I am curious as to what it is that you don't like about them? And just like all the other manufacturers of these types of blades, you go up a series and everything gets heavier. While you are looking, make a point to check what the total range of motion is. They are not all the same and I don't think any of them exceed the total range of adjustment of what LandPride provides with their blades.

I am partial to Land Pride hydraulic actuated RBT series blades. I have an RBT45108 and it takes everything that a 12,000+lb machine can give it.

I use to recommend the industrial Gannon box blades, but I'm not sure that they are even available anymore.

Not sure if Hardee makes anything hydraulic that's not a disc harrow, or bushhog or mower like the highway department uses to cut ditch banks and whatnot, but they do make pretty good box blades and scrape blades. Made in Loris, SC.

I've owned/used two brands of rear blade. Both were excellent quality. Land Pride and Rhino. When I upgraded to my Kubota M6040 I went with a MUCH heavier Rhino rear blade.

Just a matter of choice. I found that the lighter Land Pride just was not capable of cutting into my concrete-like driveway. So I went with Rhino. Different brand - MUCH heavier blade.

My guess is that you have not looked at the actual RBT series rear blades, and even they vary as you move up in the rating sizes. I agree with you as far as all of the non "TRUE" heavy duty implements. But to me, that pretty much holds true for most of the different manufacturers.

I've looked a lot, I do my best to maintain an open mind in regards to color. Where it's made with how it's made is my primary concern.

Just one metric looking for the heaviest duty 8' blade (non-hydraulic for this just because that's a lot of variable weight):
RB1584 rear blade weight 284#
Brushhog 100 series 84" rear blade weight 836# (lightest 8' blade was 572#)
Dirt Dog 70 series 84" rear blade weight 572#
Rhino 70 series 8' rear blade 572#
EA 84" rear blade 645#

Even if it's weaker steel but more of it to equal a better steel from Land Pride (which is doubtful) double the weight does a lot more work for you. Again, that's a single data point and not enough to make a decision on in my mind.

'All Purpose Plows' sold by Dirt Dog and Bush Hog appear identical except for paint.
