Brush killer?

I am trying to kill off woody brush and vines. The stuff I have been using works fairly well but it requires a lot of product per Gallon of mix. ( requires 4 to 8 oz per gallon) so it gets fairly expensive. Don't want to use roundup because I have some grass.

Can anyone recommend a product that works reasonably well and is not too expensive.

Another endorsement of Crossbow -- I use a 1.5% mixture (2 ounces per gallon of water) in spraying Chinese privet.

There is an old product that works well I think it is called bil e goat. :laughing: Sorry I just don't like to have poison on me and I bet if you knew how much you actually got on you when you spray it would scare you.

Poison is everywhere Ed, if you look what's in a bottle of shampoo, you'll never wash your hair again.

2-4-D is the generic for Crossbow. Lot of cheaper brands out there. I use a couple of brands, But it is the 2-4-D that kills the brush. Gordon's® Amine 400 2, 4-D Weed Killer, 1 gal. - Tractor Supply Co.

Not so. Crossbow contains triclopr in addition to 2,4-D (ester).

I agree. Although they are similar, 2,4-D is better for killing weeds such as clovers and other broadleafs, whereas the triclopyr is better for killing brush.
